Selwyn Raab is an investigative reporter. After George Whitmore was found guilty in the attempted rape of Elba Borrero, he overheard a conversation in which the prosecuting attorney mentioned that the evidence report on a button believed to be torn from George's coat was found to be inconclusive. As a result, he decided to track down the report and learned that the button clearly didn't match. Later in his investigation, Raab found proof that George Whitmore had been set up to take the fall for crimes he had not committed and exposed everything he knew an article for Harper's Magazine. The article, however, was killed at the last minute by D.A. Frank Hogan, who declared that printing such a scandalous piece of journalism would be detrimental to upholding the law in New York state.
