Who is Roselily from In Love & Trouble; Stories of Black Women and what is their importance?

Roselily is a woman who has had four children. She gave up one of her children to its father because he was more educated, and she believed that he would be better able to provide for the child then she was. Roselily struggles to care for her other children and dislikes her job in the clothing factory...... in fact, she dislikes having to work that at all. Thus, when she gets the offer to make a suitable, if loveless, marriage..... she jumps at the chance.
