Pryderi is Pwyll and Rhiannon's son. Stolen from his mother in infancy, Pryderi was raised in ignorance of his true heritage. When he is later restored to his position as ruler of Dyfed, he arranges for his friend and mentor to become his stepfather. Pryderi is later killed by a herd of pigs given to him as a gift by Arawn, when they are stolen by Gwydion, who later defeats him in single combat with the use of magic.
