When we first meet Peredur, he is a naive, sheltered boy who dreams of becoming a knight. His naiveté and enthusiasm both help and hinder him. At times, he can be seen as the Perfect Fool. As he get older, he loses some of his innate curiosity and naiveté, and begins to fit the standard mold of what we expext from a gallant knight.
