The niece of the owner of Rosedew, Oreline is raised as the young mistress of the house, though she doesn't seem to inherit anything upon the deaths of her aunt and uncle. She also doesn't marry young, and her aunt finally manages to make a match with an ordinary farmer nearby. Oreline's huband purchases Suzette, Philomene and Palmire when Rosedew is sold off. She later marries Joseph Ferrier and then Valery Houbre.
