Norman Greene is Susan's husband. He is also Melissa's adoptive father. Norman is described as a stern and unloving man, who openly berates both his wife and Melissa. He is generally unliked in the neighborhood because he is haughty and condescending to the neighbors.

When Melissa gets sick, Norman tells people that her illness is not really an illness, but rather, a result of her mother's babying her. When Walter tries to warn Norman about the evil in his house, Norman accuses him of being a Jew hater. Norman is later killed by his wife after he berating her for accidentally forgetting to mail party invitations.
