Norma Breen is an investigator who often works for lawyers in criminal cases. Norma is hired by Barry Kahn to investigate the murder of Will Shepard in the hopes of learning something that will help free Maggie. Norma Breen focuses on the Lake Club quickly into her investigation when she discovers that Will would often go there after hours for some kind of private party with a select group of members. When Norma learns that Nathan Bailford is a member of this exclusive club, she sits on the information until after Maggie is found guilty. Then Maggie goes to the judge with what she knows, causing a mistrial that leads to a new trial and a finding of not guilty.
