Napoleon Bonaparte is known as a brilliant military strategist, who understood the value of prompting his men to great acts of valor by talking to them. His speeches are filled with encouragement..... and promises of honor and glory. In one instance, Bonaparte informs his men that the government owes them back pay. He also tells them that they will not be receiving that pay, making them realize that what they fight for is more important than the money they will never collect.
