Mwahu, son of Waupau, is the leader of the men who chase Karen and Miyuki from the temple pyramids. They are also responsible for ransacking the office at the university. Mwahu has the same tattoo of the snake on his arm that is represented in the pyramid. He is a descendant of Horon-ko, the Great ancestor, and is one of the men chosen by the elders to protect the pyramids. Over time, Mwahu realizes that Karen and Jack are not there to harm the ancient site, and he is tasked with helping to protect them instead.
