Mrs. McKillop appears in the story, Reginald, in which, she throws a garden party. The author invites Reginald to the party, in the hopes that he will make a favorable impression on a woman who has Persian kittens. The author wants a kitten for his own. Reginald knows why he has been invited but goes anyway. Unfortunately, he creates a disturbance that causes the party to end early. In the end, Reginald tells the author, he likely will not get one of the kittens.
