Mr. Anderson is a character in the story, Number 13. He is the narrator's cousin, who while staying at a hotel in Denmark learns about the suspicion that causes hotels not to have a room numbered 13. Anderson, however, discovers the the room appears and disappears, making him a believer in the supernatural. At first, he believes the disappearance is caused by someone staying in the room. He later learns the room does not always exist.
