Mr. and Mrs. Soaring are Andrew's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Soaring are hardworking people who have fallen out with some of their good friends because of Felix Mortimer's handling of their mortgage and his opinions about their son, Pete. However, good things come to the Soarings at the end of the novel and they prove to Andrew that if you live a good life, good things will come.
