Miguel Rosas, better known as Mike, is an undersheriff in the Santa Ynez Police Department, a private law enforcement agency. He is highly respected and trusted, but over the course of the novel, the reader learns that Mike does not warrant the people's trust. His actions are despicable, and yet, Mike believes in the Authority's plan to shut down the lab. In the end, his unintended betrayal leads him to have himself embobbled. When the bobbles begin bursting, he wants to be ready to save Jeremy and Della Lu.
