Who is Mary Rotch from Emerson: The Mind on Fire: A Biography and what is their importance?

Mary Rotch was a Quaker who was expelled from the Quaker church. Emerson was interested in her story. Like the Quakers, Emerson believed that everyone had an "inner light", or inner voice, that must be trusted completely.
