Who is Maria Tuinzing from An Interrupted Life: The Diaries of Etty Hillesum, 1941-1943 and what is their importance?

Maria Tuinizing, a good friend of Etty's, made her home at the Wegerif house on the Gabriel Metustraat in Amsterdam where Etty lived for several years. Before leaving Westerbork for the last time, Etty gave Maria her diaries. Tuinzing, in turn, passed Etty's journals on to Klaas Smelik and his daughter Jopie (Johanna).
