Lucas Davenport is a detective with the Minneapolis Police Department. Lucas is a good detective, but a recent case that went bad and left his daughter wounded has caused him to fall into a dark depression. In order to help Lucas work his way out of this depression, Lucas's commander, Quentin Daniel, assigns Lucas the Stephanie Bekker case. This case causes Lucas to focus and gives him a purpose. This purpose turns into an opportunity when Lucas meets Cassie, an actress who has also suffered from depression, and begins to pull out of himself with her help.
