Linda "Lindy" Owens is a poverty stricken girl who attends Tuttle on scholarship. She is a hard working, successful student, who hopes to escape her circumstances by getting a college scholarship. Linda meets Kyle at homecoming while she is collecting tickets at the door. Kyle gives her the white rose his girlfriend didn't want and is filled with wonder by the girl who got excited over a rose. In addition, Kyle has unknowingly earned a chance to break the spell Kendra put on him with his gift.
