Who is Linda "Lindy" Owens. from Beastly Movie Tie-in Edition and what is their importance?

Linda "Lindy" Owens is an impoverished girl who is attending Tuttle on scholarship. She is a poor girl from the wrong side of town and her father is a drug addict. However, despite her circumstances, Linda is a hard worker and a successful student. She hopes to escape her father and poverty by getting a college scholarship. She and Kyle first meet at homecoming when Lindy is taking tickets at the door. Kyle gives her the white rose that his girlfriend didn't want and wonders how someone could get so excited over a rose. Lindy has never had someone give her a flower and presses the bloom in a book when she gets home. Unbeknownst to Kyle, his act of giving Lindy the rose earns him a chance to break the spell Kendra puts on him.
