Johnny Wilson is one of Cory's friends. When the Branlin boys attack Cory and his friends, Johnny is beaten badly and left with a concussion. Afterward, he teaches himself to box, using a book authored by Sugar Ray Robinson. When Gotha Branlin attempts to beat Johnny up again, Johnny is more than ready for him and teaches him a lesson he never forgets. As an adult, Johnny becomes the chief of police in a city in Florida.
