Who is Johnny Gordon from --and Ladies of the Club and what is their importance?

Johnny Gordon is Anne and Dr. John Gordon's son. His greatest wish is to be a doctor like his father, and he accompanies his father on his rounds even as a young boy. Johnny knows that Elsa Rausch is in love with him, but he chooses to marry Julia Deming. The couple later divorce. Their son, Tucker, goes onto follow in the footsteps of his father and grandfather when he becomes a doctor.
