Who is JoAnne's/Assata's Family from Assata: An Autobiography and what is their importance?

Assata's family plays a large role in developing her beliefs and influencing her actions. They do occasionally argue and fight, but for the most part, they are always supportive. Several of Assata's family members visit her in Cuba where she has political asylum.
