Jesse and Michael are brothers, nine and eleven years old, respectively, who live in a typical Hispanic family in an urban area. They are quite excited about the upcoming baseball season and practice their skills with each other. Older Michael teaches Jesse the basics of throwing, catching, and batting. When the day arrives, they go to Little League tryouts and perform for the assembled coaches. In his his first time at tryouts, Jesse is nervous and performs poorly.
