Who is Jess from Absolutely Maybe and what is their importance?

Jess is a girl that is about Maybe's age. Jess runs the taco truck Maybe comes across on one of her first days living with Sammy. Jess and Maybe start talking and they become friends. After Maybe realizes she doesn't want o work as a nanny for the triplets, she begs Jess to hire her to work at the taco truck.

Jess is Mexican and she has a deep sense of faiily loyalty. Even though she is accepted to Princeton, she is choosing to stay and run the taco truck for her uncle and her family. When Jess meets Hollywood, they take an instant liking to one another and start to date. Jess is a good friend to Maybe, also encouraging her and supporting her in all of the decisions that Maybe makes in her life.
