At twenty years old, Jerohm is already considered a career criminal. He is known to be violent, and self-involved, assembling a considerable juvenile record which includes theft, and minor violence using his fists, a metal pipe, and even a rock as his weapons. Before turning eighteen, the young black man robbed the Portola Liquor Store, this time using a gun although he later claims it was only a toy. He is given a year in county jail of which he serves just under six months due to overcrowding in the jail. A year and a half later, he is arrested when his finger print is discovered in Michael Mullen's blood on the steering wheel of his abandoned car.
