Jadus is an aging Herald, who has lost all interest in life. He becomes Talia's first true friend. He teaches her how to sing, play the harp, and how to overcome her shyness. When he dies, Jadus leaves her his harp, something that serves to remind her of him each time she plays. Jadus was the first older man that Talia learned to trust and love.
