Jacqueline appears in the story, Nineteen Thirty-Seven. She is an old woman, who visits the narrator and tells her that her mother's death will soon occur. Jacqueline is joined to her mother spiritually because of their shared experience of the Parsley Massacre of 1937. Jacqueline accompanies the narrator to the prison and is there for the burning of the mother's body.
