Ilona is Kekesfalva's niece and Edith's caregiver. She is described as a pretty woman with dark hair and a voluptuous figure. Hofmiller is attracted to before learning that she is engaged. Ilona has been promised a large dowry if she puts off her wedding and helps care for Edith. She is, however, sincere and compassionate in her care..... she isn't just there for the extra money. Unlike Hofmiller, Ilona only want to see her cousin healthy and happy.
