Hrothgar is a character in the epic, Beowulf. He is the king of the Danes, and he lives in the beautiful hall he had constructed, which was called Heorot. Hrothgar, however, is in the midst of a quandry, when Grendel begins attacking Heorot and murdering his retainers.
