Harry S. Truman sas the thirty-third President of the United States. He served in the military during World War I, and he was a Missouri Senator in 1934. Ten years later, Truman was chosen as Vice President, and he took over as President upon the Roosevelt's death. Truman's inaugural address began with a plea for the help of the American people. He noted that he needed their full cooperation in order to fulfill the tasks at hand. Truman cited his belief in God, and he said that America has specific worldwide responsibilities.
