Who is Han Wegerif from An Interrupted Life: The Diaries of Etty Hillesum, 1941-1943 and what is their importance?

Han was Etty's landlord in the house on the Gabriel Metustraat in Amsterdam. She and "Papa Han" (as she lovingly called him) were lovers while she was in Amsterdam. Though he was considerably older than Etty, she wasn't intimidated by the difference in their ages. In fact, she writes about how grateful she was for their time together and how comfortable they were in their relationship.
