Who is Hamicar Barca from The Ghosts of Cannae: Hannibal and the Darkest Hour of the Roman Republic and what is their importance?

Hamicar Barca was Hannibal's father. He served as a commander during the First Punic War, and later established a family empire in Spain. Hannibal's hatred of Rome was likely passed on by his father.
