Gregory Kawakita is another graduate student working at the museum under Dr. Frock. Kawakita has created a computer program that takes the DNA of two unrelated creatures and is able to guess at what an evolutionary creature between them might have been like. Using this program, Margo is able to figure out what the creature might look like and how formidable it might be to face. Also using this program, Kawakita recognizes the properties of the packing material and the creature and uses this information to begin manufacturing the plant that created the creature and sell it as a street drug. This action suggests that Kawakita might create several more of these creatures, placing the people of New York in danger.
