Fritz Popp is a biophysicist at the University of Marburg in Germany. Popp spends many years in the study of light photons and the impact they potentially have on human beings. In 1970, Popp feels he may have found a cure for cancer. He has been experimenting with the effect of ultraviolet light on cancer tumors.

Popp discovers that the light absorbed by non-cancer causing chemical compounds and its subsequently re-released photons are measured to be in the same strength and frequency as originally received. However, when he tests the released lights from a chemical compound known to cause cancer, the photons are altered, seemingly scrambled by the carcinogens. Later in his work, his suspicions are confirmed when he tests subjects who are healthy and those who are cancer sufferers.
