Who is Frederic Hedge from Emerson: The Mind on Fire: A Biography and what is their importance?

Emerson met Hedge at the Harvard Divinity School. The two men became very close friends, and in 1836, Emerson, Hedge, and Ripley formed what became known as the “Transcendental Club.”
