Franklin Delano Roosevelt was the thirty-second President of the United States. During his term of office, Roosevelt decided that his communication with the people needed to be expanded and he began what came to be known as his "fireside chats." These informal speeches were broadcast by radio and became a cornerstone of his term in the White House.
