Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959) is considered by many to be the greatest American architect of the twentieth century. He was the author of Broadacre City: A New Community Plan, among other works, and he was famous for his prairie houses. A proponent of the "American spirit," Wright is described as plain-spoken. He hated the uneducated, philistine aesthetics that gained popularity in the United States during the twentieth century. Wright was an advocate for social change, something that is supported in his writings about Broadacre city.
