Fee Berlew is the town drunk, who can often be seen singing in the street. When Fee is almost hit by a truck in the middle of the street, Jayber calls out a warning, saving his life. Fee, however, takes a few minutes to realize the truck had stopped short of killing him.... after which, he cursed the driver and yelled at him to get the thing out of the road. Fee is the only man Jayber ever threw out of his shop.
