Eugenie's father is often referenced in the text but never seen. He is a renowned libertine and one of Madame de Saint-Ange's lovers. He frequently beats his more prudish wife Madame de Mistival, and such a beating is the way he ensured Eugenie's arrival at the titular boudoir. Eugenie's fathe wants her daughter educated in the carnal art so that he can carry on an incestuous relationship with her. He sends a letter to Madame de Saint-Ange later, warning her that his wife is coming to pick up Eugenie and giving Madame and Dolmance permission to abuse her upon arrival.
