Edmund Wilson was born in 1895 in New Jersey. He was educated at Princeton and worked in Intelligence during the war. He was an avid reader and worked as a journalist. He married Mary Blair in 1923 and divoved her in 1925. In 1929 he married Margaret Canby and had two other marriages to Mary McCarthy and Elena Mumm. He died in 1972.
