Eddie is an old Aborigine man that Robyn meets while camping in the desert. He goes onto become her guide, companion, and teacher. Eddie is described as jovial, easygoing, and without inhibitions. Over time, he teaches Robyn his language, but more importantly, he teaches her how to have the attitude of an Aborigine.

Despite his age, Eddie is in far better physical shape than Robyn, and she is happy to have him with her. Eddie is enthralled by Robyn's rifle, and he is very excited when she promises to get him one just like it. When Robyn meets Eddie's wife, she is overwhelmed by their close relationship and obvious devotion..... she can see the love in their faces.
