A Chinese-American scientist, he was captured some two years prior to Mrs. Pollifax being captured. He was working on a way to extract proteins from specific plants, making it possible to feed millions, when he was abducted. He pretends to speak no English when he is taken from his cell by Mrs. Pollifax and she and Farrell come to refer to him as "Genie." Dr. Howell tells her that his relatives all believe he is dead already. He kills a man, steals a car and then a boat in his efforts to help the escape plan succeed.
