A physician who hopes to become a surgeon, Abbey DiMatteo is strong-willed and has come this far in her career because of sheer determination. She says that she believes that all she really has to do in order to obtain something is set her mind on a particular goal and then work as hard as necessary to obtain it. When Abbey comes to realize that there's something wrong with the organ transplant system at Bayside, she is suddenly faced with moral dilemmas and problems that can't be solved by her own determination.
