Who is Del from Eyes of Prey and what is their importance? Eyes_of_Prey English & Literature Del | Eyes of Prey

Del is a narcotics officer who often indulges in the same drugs he is supposed to be getting off the streets. Del and Lucas work together at the beginning of the novel to take down a pimp who wounded one of Lucas's snitches. During this meeting, Del tells Lucas how someone murdered his cousin, Stephanie Bekker, and that he believes her husband had something to do with it. Lucas promises to look into it and is later assigned to the case. Del helps Lucas investigate the case by getting involved with a nurse who was once one of Bekker's lovers. Ironically, this relationship blossoms into a real relationship, bringing Del out of the darkness of his drug addiction.
