Congresswoman Catherine DeBlass is Sharon's aunt. Although Catherine initially appears admire her father, we later learn that she has been a victim of sexual abuse at his hands. Although, she attempted to forget the abuse and ignore its affects on her life, when she realizes that her father has been abusing Sharon, she finds herself unable to ignore her own abuse. When she meets with Sharon, her advice is refused. Unfortunately, Sharon is found dead a few days later. As a result, Catherine suffers a mental breakdown. Catherine later calls Dallas and tells her the entire story..... her confession gives Dallas everything she needs to break the case.
