Charlotte Mayfair, the third Mayfair witch, marries Antoine Fontenay and moves away to Saint-Domingue. Though she comes back to France to get her mother's help with her husband's crippling illness, she escapes before Deborah's execution. When Petyr approaches her about what Deborah has warned him regarding Lasher, she seduces Petyr, even though he is her father, because she wants his strength and his height for her children, and her husband can no longer give her children. She gives birth to twins. She believes in her control over Lasher, but has to threaten Lasher with the removal of her love if he hurts Petyr.
