Celianne appears in the story, Children of the Sea. She is a teenage girl, who is present on the boat with the male narrator from Haiti to America. Celianne gives birth to her child on the boat, but the infant dies soon after. Poor Celianne refuses to acknowledge the baby's death for days. In the end, she dumps the baby's body overboard and joins it, drowning to death.
