Cass was one of Lia's best friends before the accident. Along with Lia's other friends, Cass is unable to accept what Lia has become. During a party, Cass's boyfriend comes on to Lia because he wants to see what it feels like to make love to a machine. When Lia tries to explain what happened, Cass chooses to believe her boyfriend's version that it was actually Lia that came on to him and ends their friendship.
