Caesarion is Cleopatra's son by Caesar. His Roman heritage, however, is not recognized by the Romans, and Cleopatra is forced to fight in order to make certain he will inherit his father's power and prestige. When Octavian invades Alexandria, he realizes that Caesarion might possibly become a threat to his power in Rome. As a result of this realization, he orders Caesarion's death.
