Bryan appears in the story, Minor Heroism. His father, Richard, was a war hero, and as a result, Bryan can never seem to please him. Father and son often argue, and they sometimes even get into physical confrontations. Richard is said to occupy the physical world, whereas, Bryan occupies a mental and aesthetic sphere.
