Brenda is Alison's friend and rival. She is attractive, but in an ordinary way. She is dating Kipp, the smartest student in school. Brenda is very outgoing and, at times, brash. When Fran first gets the chain letter, Brenda grabs it from her in order to read it. She is often abrasive and sarcastic. Brenda is cast as a side character in the school play and resents Alison for getting the lead part.
